Holidays are just around the corner, and it is almost possible to hear “Jingle Bells” chanting in the air. You know what that means? Christmas parties invitations will soon start arriving, and after you make the decision about which party to attend (or throwing your own), you’ll be left with another important question: What to wear? Sure, the store windows are full of party dresses on sale, but you want to stand out from the crowd and look like you just got off the runway. Here are some great ideas to help you find your perfect Christmas party outfit.

Go with Classic

You can brainstorm Christmas party outfit ideas for days, but in the end, you will find that it is always best to go with the all-time classic pieces, such as little black dress. With dozens of variations to this style, you will surely find a model that fits your body the best and that makes you feel confident and comfortable. That can be a figure-embracing mini, a cocktail-style midi, a tulle a-line princess-like dress, etc. If all-black combination looks too dark for you, refresh it with colourful shoes, statement jewellery, patterned blazer or some different touch of colour or glitter.

Wrapped in Red

What is the first colour you think of when someone says “Christmas”? It’s red, of course. Translate this holiday colour into your outfit and you will look dashing in every party you go to. If you think that red outfit limits your choices somehow, think again: from burgundy red to fire engine red; from mini dresses to maxi; from black trousers and red blouses to a red leather pencil skirt and shirt… For extra elegance, you can decide for red velvet, satin or lace.

All I Want for Christmas Is Glitter

Nothing says “Happy Holidays” as a glittery dress that shines when put in a spotlight. And it’s not just because holidays are approaching. Sequins have been announced as one of the biggest trends for fall/winter this season and we could really see the designers going all-out, scattering glitter over dresses. These attention-grabbing pieces can be found in various colours and styles, and there is also a wide range of plus size dresses available online and in shops.

Celebrate Separately

A party doesn’t necessarily imply that you must wear a dress, right? If separates are more of your thing, you can find equally stylish combination and feel confident in your skin. You can combine dressy pants with elegant tops, and finish the look with a contrasting blazer for an instant haute vibe. Replace the pants with a skirt (feminine A-line cut or sexy pencil skirt) and you will get a slightly dressier look for more formal occasions.

Be Casual

Sometimes you just don’t feel like wearing a tight dress or a skirt/blouse combination, and that’s ok. Not every party has to be red-carpet inspired. You can still look great in your favourite casual combination. Grab a pair of your favourite jeans (the darker the better) and choose a very dressy blouse. Yes, casual still doesn’t mean that you can go in your reindeer sweater. Go with chiffon, velvet, silk or sequins, and choose an elegant cut, e.g. bubble top, shoulder shimmer, off the shoulder, embellished neckline, etc. Use fabulous accessories and your fanciest shoes to make your outfit party-worthy.
Ready to shine in your favourite Christmas outfit? Don’t forget to match your hairstyle and makeup with the outfit, because every detail counts.
